Caol Ila Moch

Moch, which translates to 'dawn' in Gaelic, presents a notably lighter experience compared to Caol Ila's renowned 12-year-old standard expression. The nose is greeted with the aromas of lemon sherbet and apple crumble topping with custard, accompanied by dry grass and entirely devoid of smoke. On the palate, it offers the sweetness of lemon meringue pie with an exceptionally soft mouthfeel. A restrained peat emerges a third of the way in, characterised by soothing wood smoke rather than the harshness of burning tyres, maintaining its sweetness throughout. The finish lingers with soft, drying smoke. Overall, it offers a delightful, easy-drinking Islay profile that moderates the peat without sacrificing flavour.
