The Kurayoshi Sherry Cask

An expression from the Kurayoshi range, crafted by the lesser-known Japanese whisky producer Matsui Shuzou, also renowned for sake and shochu. These blended malts are made with whiskies distilled in Scotland and subsequently shipped to Japan, where they are combined with Japanese whisky. The nose reveals walnuts and chocolate peanuts, accompanied by a hint of cranberry. On the palate, sultana and honeyed bread come through, with a persistent note of ground ginger. The finish offers crunchy brown sugar, stewed pears, and blueberries.
